DBA Match Results

Rules
Greater Houston DBA Ladder
  • A player ranked in the top 20 positions may challenge a player up to 5 positions higher on the ladder. A player ranked below the top 20 positions may challenge a player up to 10 positions higher. A player not ranked on the ladder may challenge in at any position. If an unranked player loses a challenge match, he or she will be ranked initially at the bottom of the ladder.
  • Except as noted below, the player receiving a challenge is obliged to accept the challenge immediately and to make himself or herself available to play the challenge match within 2 weeks of being challenged. Should a challenged player fail to make himself or herself available in this time, the challenging player may appeal to the Ladder Coordinator to receive the match win by default. Should a challenged player decline a challenge, he or she may be removed from the ladder at the discretion of the Ladder Coordinator, and the position of the challenging player will not change; or the Ladder Coordinator can remove the challenged player from his or her position and give that position to the challenging player, and the challenged player is placed at the bottom of the ladder.
  • The winner of a challenge match is not obliged to accept a challenge from the loser of the match for a period of 1 month after the match has been played.
  • Match results are applied to ladder positions in the chronological order in which the matches are played.
  • When a lower ranked player wins a challenge match, the lower ranked player assumes the higher ranked player's ladder position and all intermediate players are moved down one position.
  • Players for whom no match result, whether as winner or loser, has been reported to the Ladder Coordinator within the last six months will be removed from the ladder. Once removed, the player may challenge back into the ladder at any position at any time.
  • Matches are best of three games.
  • All Games will use DBA VERSION 2.2.
  • The location of all Games will be Little Wars by default, however, the higher ranked Player may choose a suitable alternative location as long as it is either within 5 miles of Little Wars, or within 5 miles of the residence of the challenging player, and provides access to the challenging player.
  • The winning player shall report Game results (including players names, date played, and games won by each player) to the Ladder Coordinator by e-mail at alexanderhay@post.harvard.edu, or in writing and personally delivered to Little Wars. Game results must be reported to the Ladder Coordinator within 1 week to count towards position on the ladder.
  • The current Little Wars DBA Ladder will be posted weekly at Little Wars, and on the internet at http://www.grenadierguard.com/dbaladder.html
